THERMARMOUR Military Poncho

The THERMARMOUR Military Poncho helps to protect injured or shocked personnel as soon as assistance arrives. The addition of a hood also helps to avoid heat loss from the head. Longer length than the Emergency Poncho, this covers more of the legs and provides more protection to the body. Hypothermia is a major contributor to morbidity and mortality within trauma victims. THERMARMOUR will help by alleviating this heat loss and allow the casualty to begin to return to a normothermic state without introducing an active heat source.

THERMARMOUR Hypothermia Evacuation Bag 2.0

Version 2 of the THERMARMOUR Xtreme Hypothermia Bag features the same insulation properties with some upgraded features. Designed for emergency/rescue situations, the Xtreme fabric protects against the wind, rain, and cold weather. It has the strength to be lifted to move casualties in a hostile environment. Manufactured using THERMARMOUR Xtreme fabric. The outer fabric repels and sheds water to expedite the drying process whilst maintaining insulative properties even when wet. Tested in the Arctic regions of Finland and the Antarctic continent. The hypothermia bag is typically used by search & rescue teams, emergency teams and military teams to protect someone with an injury or in a trauma situation. The injured person lies in the bag to be safely carried away to a medical facility - whilst maintaining normothermic temperatures. This process requires no external heat source to work. The unique layered material warms the person up using their own body heat. This prevents hypothermia. Version 2 upgrades:
  • Introduced a wipeable base material for easy care
  • Reduced weight making the bag easier to transport
  • Improved face opening with a soft, breathable material
  • Updated the access points to zips to ease opening and closing
  • Replaced the velcro closing with a double-sided zip to ease opening and closing

  • Water and wind proof as well as fire resistant
  • Padded base layer for added protection and patient comfort
  • Triage card pockets to identify immediate patient requirements
  • Built-in full length incontinence pad

THERMARMOUR X provides a hard-wearing solution for challenging environments

Tested successfully for use in the Antarctic, in temperatures as low as -25°C, THERMARMOUR Xtreme is a bonded fabric created to have all the insulating properties of the original THERMARMOUR, but with added tensile and tear strength. This makes it suitable to be built into products which need to be highly durable in harsh conditions and situations. It is one of the core materials used in one of our best selling products, the military THERMARMOUR Hypothermia Evacuation Bag, used for hypothermia prevention.

How to use THERMARMOUR X:

Any trauma casualty will begin to feel the effects of hypothermia. THERMARMOUR Hypothermia Evacuations Bags are designed to insulate casualties when they are experiencing shock or injury, whilst simultaneously allowing them to be lifted or dragged to safety.

Place the casualty inside the bag, closing the zips to protect the casualty from drafts and using the toggle to secure the breathable face covering around the face (over the top of the head and under the chin so breathing is not compromised).

Strategically placed access points allow for treatment to continue without overly exposing the patient to the elements.

The bags are designed to take a spine board and have a safe lifting weight of 460kg. The straps provide extra security whilst lifting.
